Ms. Muntaha Amin

Ms. Muntaha Amin has joined the Department of Communications at IILM University in Greater Noida as Assistant Professor.
She is an independent women’s cinema practitioner and is pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Kashmir’s Department of Media Education Research Centre (MERC).
She has worked as a narrative editor, cultural consultant and film practitioner on various National and International freelance film and multimedia projects. Her debut film, Siege in the Air, premiered at various international film festivals in the country, including the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, IDSSFK Kerala, Kolkata People’s Film Festival, 2023 New Castle University’s Memory Studies Conference, etc. The film received the Best Documentary Award at the Himachal Short Film Festival (2022) and was long-listed for the Toto Awards 2023. Muntaha worked as a cultural consultant on the script of the upcoming Australian feature film Stripey with the Academy award-winning writer and director of the Animated feature Happy Feet, Warren Coleman and his co-writer Steve Abbott.
She earned a Masters in Mass Communication from AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia, and a Bachelor of Honors in English Literature from Ramjas College, University of Delhi. She succeeded in the UGC NET and JK SET exams.
She has also worked as a Journalist in Asia Times, Youth ki Awaaz, Free Press Kashmir, Kashmir Life and Wande Magazine.
