Dr. Monu
assistant Professor

Dr. Monu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at IILM, University, Greater Noida, and holds a Ph.D. in Biological Science from the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi, India. His research focuses on identifying disease-associated specific proteins to understand rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
pathogenesis and to develop diagnosis methods. After completing his M.Tech in Biotechnology, he has significantly contributed to multiple CSIR, ICMR, and DST-funded projects covering diverse topics such as SARS-CoV-2 ocular infections, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and mycobacterium tuberculosis. During his PhD, he was awarded a CSIR Direct-senior research fellowship for his research on identifying disease-associated specific proteins for understanding rheumatoid arthritis pathogenesis and diagnosis development. As a postdoctoral research fellow, he also worked in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, on understanding glaucoma and ocular infection pathology. Throughout his 8-year research experience, he has published 19 research articles in prestigious, SCI-indexed scientific journals. He has gained hands-on training and expertise in various research and development techniques, including molecular biology, proteomics, mammalian cell culture, and laboratory animal (rodent) handling. During his PhD and postdoctoral tenure, he presented his research at national and international conferences, and his significant scientific contributions were recognized and honored with the Dean’s Award for Health Science Research Day at the University of Missouri in 2023 for the best presentation.
