Prof.(Dr) Babita Singh Parasain is an expert in Constitutional Law and Parliamentary Law & Practices. She is Professor of Law and Director at IILM School of Law, IILM University, Greater Noida. She has researched on law and legislative practices in Parliament, empowered under the Indian Constitution making suggestions for legislative reforms. Combining her long experience in teaching and research with her professional association with legislative/government bodies, the Indian Parliament, Law & Justice and Foreign Affairs, she has been engaging and researching in legislative and academic activities.
She has been imparting education on curriculum modules and is a nominated faculty in premier institutions with experience in teaching foreign civil servants and legislative officers of 25 countries and Indian civil servants, university students, researchers and university teachers. She has also addressed Public Representatives (District Council Members) on subjects of Constitution and law students of University of Bradford and University of Birmingham, United Kingdom visiting India through academic Institutions. She has worked on curriculum module development for courses and has also written on higher legal education reforms in India viz., “Teaching and Experiential Learning in Law, Need for Change and Adoption of New Approaches to Law Teaching”.
At national level,Dr Babita has been nominated for communication/interpretation of bilateral dialogues of Hon’ble President of India with high level Foreign Delegations. She has moderated varied programmes/conferences/lectures on law, culture and legislation. She has authored a book, “The Question Hour in Parliament: Evolution, Processes and Procedures,“ edited books on law and legislation and has written articles published in national and international journals. As an academic, believing in diversity and universality of thought, it is her firm belief that in education, teaching inheres the ability to engage and be engaged in the process of transforming a normal mind into a value-based legal mind that makes the path of imparting education an inspiring experience in honing young minds in the experiential and theoretical learning of thesis, anti-thesis and synthesis.
