Dr. Jasminder Kaur Sandhu is a distinguished academician and researcher who currently holds the position of Professor and Head of the Department of Machine Learning and Data Science at IILM University, Greater Noida. With over 15 years of experience in higher education and research, she has made impactful contributions to the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, wireless sensor networks, ensemble modeling, and data analytics. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala.
Dr. Sandhu has an extensive research record, with 18 papers in SCI/SCIE-indexed journals, and 106 Scopus-indexed articles. Additionally, she has contributed to 03 edited books and 08 book chapters published by leading publishers such as Wiley, CRC Press, and Springer. She has supervised 06 Ph.D. scholars - 03 of whom have successfully completed their degrees, 08 PG thesis, guiding research in areas such as healthcare analytics, deep learning, wireless networks, and intelligent automation. She is frequently invited as a speaker and keynote presenter, having delivered expert talks at institutions such as Symbiosis Institute (Pune), IIIT Bhopal, the University of Jammu, and Chitkara University. Her research excellence has been acknowledged with prestigious recognitions, including the Research Luminary Award by Chandigarh University in 2023.
In addition to her research and teaching roles, she has held various academic leadership positions such as Ph.D. Coordinator, NBA Criteria-5 Coordinator, ABET Criteria-3 Coordinator, and has served on faculty recruitment panels. She has chaired sessions at international conferences and contributed to organizing key academic events, including the Smart India Hackathon. While at Chitkara University, she also served as Joint Editor of the research newsletter Res Novae and as the First Information Officer for CURIN.
